The Illinois High School Association had it's monthly board meeting on Monday, September 13 in Bloomington.
Three state final venue contracts were extended. The IHSA Bass Fishing State Tournament will continue to be held at Carlyle Lake. This school year will be the third year for the Bass Fishing tournament.
Also in its third year is the contract between U.S. Celluar Coliseum in Bloomington and the IHSA Dual Team Wrestling State Tournament. The third extension was given to Eastern Illinois University for the state Badminton tournament.
All extentions are through the 2015-16 school year.
Proposals for the Class 1A and Class 2A State Baseball Tournament have an October 1 submission deadline. The site will be finalized at the October IHSA Board meeting.
The IHSA Athletic Officials Advisory Committee met on September 9. Increased pay for state tournament wrestling officials was a recommendations, and there was discussion about ejected coaches being required to take an online clinic before returning to coach.
