Area "Volley For the Cure" Dates for 2011

9/16 - For the fourth year in a row, IHSA Volleyball teams will help raise funds for the The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in a promotion called Volley for the Cure. The foundation supports breast cancer research.

Certain high school volleyball events will feature special promotions and sell t-shirt as means of raising money.

The first such events for our area's volleyball teams take place next Wednesday. Erie will take on rival Prophetstown in a Three Rivers Conference match, with freshmen kicking things off at 5:15 p.m. Event T-shirts will be available for a $10 purchase, and there will also be games, silent auctions and raffles.

Amboy will host Newman next Thursday in a Three Rivers match, with freshmen kicking off at 5:15 p.m. Advance T-shirt sales are $10, or can be purchased at the event for $12-15. Also featured during the evening are basket raffles, 50/50, various contests, survivor recognition, t-shirts, blanket raffles and much more.
